IAA / China Advance International Collaboration on Space Technology and Humans in Space

The Chinese Society of Astronautics (CSA) and the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) are co-organizing the 7th International Conference on Space Technology Innovation November 23-24 in Shanghai on the theme of how advanced space technology benefits society. Space professionals will focus on satellite technology, space applications, commercialization, and international cooperation and policies through plenary, technical sessions and technical visits. On Nov 27-30 IAA is also hosting 21st IAA Humans in Space Symposium in Shenzhen, China with CNSA, CSA, Beijing Institute of Technology, Space Institute of Southern China and others. The ISS and Tiangong-2 are currently providing the only platforms for Humans in Space, with Russia supplying the only human-rated launch vehicles for ISS. This Symposium will focus on advancements in human life support systems, sharing research results and developing future collaborations. Its co-chairs are Secretary General of CNSA Tian Yulong, Chief Commander and Designer of China Manned Space Engineering Astronaut System Chen Shanguang, Director of Greece IASI Aeromedical Centre Chrysoula Kourtidou-Papadeli, Petra Rettberg of DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine, and Vice President of Beijing Institute of Technology Changlu Zhao. 17th Canadian Space Summit Celebrates Canada Sesquicentennial in Ottawa

The Annual Canadian Space Summit of Canadian Space Society is being held November 21-22 at Ottawa University in observation of the 150th anniversary of Canada. With the theme Canada’s Next Space Generation the conference highlights up-and-coming leaders in industry, space engineering, science and future astronauts. A comprehensive program includes exploration of space research, space business, space policy, networking and promoting space to the public, with presentations from President of the Canadian Space Agency Sylvain Laporte, Chair of the Space Advisory Board Marie Lucy Stojak, Founder & CEO of OMX Nicole Verkindt, VP of Washington Operations and Business Development at SSL Mike Gold, Founder & CEO of Starburst Accelerator Francois Chopard, CTO of ispace inc. Kazuya Yoshida, President of exactEarth Ltd. Peter Mabson, and Executive Director of Canadian Space Commerce Association Michelle Mendes, among many others. This follows on from work at the 9th Canadian Science Policy Conference Nov 1-3 and the Canadian Space Policy Symposium on Nov 9.
