Europe Lunar Advances: Torino to Host Key Moon Events

As Europe prepares to land its first Argonaut lunar cargo mission in 2030, Torino, Italy hosts the joint 28th AIDAA Congress and 10th CEAS Aerospace Europe Conference December 1-4 with the 9th Moon Village Association Global Workshop & Symposium Dec 3-4 at Centro Congressi Lingotto. Experts debate the permanent return of humanity to the Moon: peaceful governance, heritage protection, ethical rules and lunarized tech. Day-one flagship panel “Enabling Technologies for Lunar Exploration” is moderated by Maria Antonietta Perino, Thales Alenia Space Director for Space Economy Exploration and International Network. Nearby at the Oval Lingotto, the 10th Aerospace and Defense Meetings brings together 2200 participants, 35 nations and 9000 pre-scheduled B2B meetings Dec 2-4. Co-located: the 2nd Lunar Economy Summit – a dedicated exhibition space featuring lunar funding streams, non-space industry tie-ins, lunar infrastructure, human settlements and the workforce pipeline for a multi-trillion dollar cislunar future. Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland (Dec 2-4), the 6th Cislunar Security Conference assembles government, defense and industry experts for national / unclassified / restricted presentations on domain awareness, astrodynamics, enabling tech such as propulsion and nuclear power, norms and threats – ensuring secure cislunar access. OSMED2025 Innovation Summit in Southern CA Ignites Human-Centric Space Design
Organization for Space Medicine, Engineering and Design holds 2nd Innovation Summit December 4-6 in Santa Ana CA, to advance human space exploration via interdisciplinary cooperation and communication. OSMED members (cost to join US$50-5,000) have exclusive sessions; public Capstone on Dec 6 (US$100-150) spotlights multidimensional human variables—biology, psychology and beyond—affecting multiworld exploration systems. Chaired by Jennifer Rochlis and Erik Antonsen MD (both formerly of NASA), the event features: NASA Astronauts Steve Robinson about off-world challenges and Bernard Harris MD; VAST Space design chief and astronaut candidate Hillary Coe on human-focused habitats; and co-founder of Making Space Agency Danica Vallone. The Capstone agenda packs presentations, a leadership panel, fostering interdisciplinary breakthroughs for lunar bases and Mars missions. OSMED International and Community Engagement Committee Chair, Dr. Shawna Pandya—physician, citizen-scientist, astronaut candidate, STEM advocate and Board Member of International Lunar Observatory Association—brings expertise from Projects PoSSUM and PHEnOM, where she tested commercial spacesuits in micro-gravity and underwent centrifuge, egress and wilderness medicine training. OSMED25 promises networking, mentorship and forward-thinking strategies and invites people to Connect, Learn and Lead in the Global Human Spaceflight Community.
