DESCRIPTION:For event to be held Dec 3-4\, 2025 in Turin\, Italy. Moon Village Association (MVA) is a non-governmental organization that promotes international collaboration for the development of lunar exploration and utilization. The 9th Global Moon Village Workshop & Symposium will be hosted by the Italian Association of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIDAA)\, alongside the 28th AIDAA International Congress and the 10th Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) Aerospace Europe Conference\, which will take place from December 1-4\, 2025. \nThe annual MVA Workshop & Symposium is devoted to discussions of different aspects of lunar exploration and utilization. Each year it brings together Space Agencies\, government\, industry\, policymakers and international experts to share progress\, new ideas and relevant information to enable humanity’s permanent\, peaceful and sustainable presence on the Moon. \nThe previous annual Workshops have been held around the world with the 2024 edition held in Luxembourg hosted by the Luxembourg Space Agency. SUMMARY:Bennu and Ryugu: Samples from the Early Solar System Conference
DESCRIPTION:Purpose and Scope\nThis hybrid workshop will feature invited and contributed presentations aimed at studies of returned samples from Bennu (OSIRIS-REx mission) and Ryugu (Hayabusa2 mission)\, and perspectives on future asteroidal sample return. \nIn the past five years\, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx and JAXA’s Hayabusa2 missions have made history by returning the first samples from carbonaceous asteroids Bennu and Ryugu\, respectively. Analyses of these two sets of samples show that their mineralogies are remarkably similar to one another and to CI carbonaceous chondrites in our terrestrial meteorite collections. They contain abundant hydrated silicates\, carbonates\, magnetite\, and sulfides\, all of which signify intense and pervasive aqueous alteration on their respective parent bodies. Despite such aqueous alteration\, remnants of dust from the solar protoplanetary disk\, presolar grains\, chondrule fragments\, organic compounds\, and amino acids are preserved. This workshop will bring together scientists who have worked on these groundbreaking missions and one-of-a-kind samples to share and discuss what we have learned about the origins of these asteroids and our early solar system. \nIndication of Interest\nTo be added to the mailing list to receive additional information about this workshop submit an indication of interest.
