Canada and Europe Advance Moon Mining, ISRU Manufacturing, Science, Settlement

The 8th Planetary and Terrestrial Mining Sciences Symposium / Space Resources Roundtable on May 1-3 is being held in conjunction with 2017 Canadian Institute of Mining (CIM) Convention April 30 – May 2 in Montreal, Quebec. PTMSS/SRR will cover space commerce, policies, international efforts and mission concepts. Clive Neal is speaking on Lunar Resources, Jim Keravala on Solar System Robotic Workforce, and Melissa Sampson on Cislunar Marketplace Resources. There are also representatives from iSpace / Team Hakuto, PISCES, Polish Academy of Sciences, Hanyang University, NASA and MIT. CIM has over 14,600 members and the Convention expects over 1,000 delegates discussing terrestrial & extraterrestrial mining technology, safety regulations, rock mechanics, 3D modeling, biotechnology and environmental effects. University of Münster, Germany is hosting 5th European Lunar Symposium May 2-3 with New Views of the Moon Two on May 4-5. They will focus on Science from / on / of the Moon, recent mission data and future missions. The final New Views from the Moon will be held in 2018. Moon Village workshop on May 5 is being held in Cannes, France featuring Bernard Foing, followed by SpaceUp Cannes on May 6-7. A series of Moon Village meetings are being held internationally (44 activities have already occurred) to enhance ESA Director General Johann Worner’s vision of sustained Human lunar settlement. ANGKASA IconSpace 2017 in Malaysia Advancing Space Development in Southeast Asia and Beyond

Space Science Center ANGKASA, under the Institute of Climate Change at the National University of Malaysia, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), is hosting the 5th biennial International Conference on Space Science and Communication on May 3-5 at the Seri Pacific Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The technical program includes four Keynotes and four tripartite breakout sessions. Featured Keynote speakers are Jann-Yenq Liu (Tiger) of the National Central University in Taiwan, Yoshimasa Tanaka of National Institute of Polar Research in Japan, Zahra Bouya of Australian Bureau of Meteorology and Mastura Mahmud of Faculty of Social Science and Humanities at UKM. The program committee is led by Patron Sharifah Mastura Syed Abdullah and General Chair Mardina Abdullah, with the International Advisory Committee led by Mazlan Othman former Director of United Nations Office of Outer Space Affairs. UKM is also organizing a session of Special Talks on Space Exploration and Updates at the National Planetarium by Mazlan Othman, Antarctic Research Expert Wayan Suparta, Real-Time Space Weather Expert Zahra Bouya, and Supermassive Black Holes Researcher Nur Adlyka Ainul Annuar.
