SUMMARY:Launch Long March 8A / Unknown Payload
DESCRIPTION:8A is capable of taking 7\,000kg to orbit\, including and SSO with altitude 700km\, using a liquid oxygen / liquid hydrogen 2nd stage. Wenchang is China’s southernmost spaceport\, selected for its low latitude\, 19° north of the equator\, allowing for larger payloads to be launched. It is capable of launching the Long March 5\, the heaviest Chinese rocket.

SUMMARY:Webinar: The Space Investment Horizon
DESCRIPTION:From inflationary pressures and shifting interest rates to supply chain challenges and intensifying great-power competition\, today’s macroeconomic and geopolitical forces are reshaping the future of space investment. For investors and businesses\, navigating this environment means balancing capital market dynamics\, technology cycles\, and an increasingly complex landscape of export controls\, trade restrictions\, and government influence. \nThis webinar will bring together leading experts and executives to examine: \nHow macroeconomic trends\, from interest rates to capital availability\, are shaping early- and late-stage space financing. \nThe impact of geopolitical tensions on cross-border investment flows.\nWhether government-led demand and sovereign wealth strategies are amplifying—or crowding out—private capital. \nThe role of consolidation and M&A in building resilience amid uncertainty.\nWhere the next wave of growth capital is most likely to emerge in this turbulent environment.\nJoin us for an in-depth discussion on what the future holds for space finance against today’s shifting global backdrop. \nFeaturing:\nJason Rainbow\nSenior Staff Writer & Business Intelligence Manager\nSpaceNews \nKirk Konert\nManaging Partner\nAE industrial Partners \nMark Boggett\nCEO & General Partner\nSeraphim Space \nMasashi Sato\nCo-founder\, Director and Chief Strategy Officer\nSPACETIDE

SUMMARY:Draconids Meteor Shower Peak
DESCRIPTION:Appearing when Earth passes through the tail of Comet 21P / Giacobini-Zinner\, the comet was a perihelion in 2025; speculation has arisen this may be a year with peak yielding many hundreds per hour. However\, the Full Moon the day prior may compromise viewing. Most years show 10-20 per hour\, appearing in Constellation Draco\, near stars Eltanin and Rastaban in the head of the dragon. Draconids are active Oct 6-10\, 2025.

SUMMARY:Space Frontier Foundation Space Policy Town Hall
DESCRIPTION:What it’ll cover: \n\n\n\nContext of Space Frontier Foundation Policy Work\nDC Insider Situation Report\nModerated Q&A\n\n\n\nFrom the SFF Outreach Email: D.C. continues to be our nation’s capital of chaos and confusion… but with change comes opportunities to reform and advance our nation’s space agenda. Over eight months into the second Trump Administration\, we still don’t know who the NASA Administrator will be\, or who will run the Office of Commercial Space Transportation or the Office of Space Commerce\, or will there really be a National Space Council (and who will lead it)… but some progress has already been made on regulatory reform and recognition that SLS is unaffordable.

SUMMARY:Bennu and Ryugu: Samples from the Early Solar System Conference
DESCRIPTION:Purpose and Scope\nThis hybrid workshop will feature invited and contributed presentations aimed at studies of returned samples from Bennu (OSIRIS-REx mission) and Ryugu (Hayabusa2 mission)\, and perspectives on future asteroidal sample return. \nIn the past five years\, NASA’s OSIRIS-REx and JAXA’s Hayabusa2 missions have made history by returning the first samples from carbonaceous asteroids Bennu and Ryugu\, respectively. Analyses of these two sets of samples show that their mineralogies are remarkably similar to one another and to CI carbonaceous chondrites in our terrestrial meteorite collections. They contain abundant hydrated silicates\, carbonates\, magnetite\, and sulfides\, all of which signify intense and pervasive aqueous alteration on their respective parent bodies. Despite such aqueous alteration\, remnants of dust from the solar protoplanetary disk\, presolar grains\, chondrule fragments\, organic compounds\, and amino acids are preserved. This workshop will bring together scientists who have worked on these groundbreaking missions and one-of-a-kind samples to share and discuss what we have learned about the origins of these asteroids and our early solar system. \nIndication of Interest\nTo be added to the mailing list to receive additional information about this workshop submit an indication of interest.

SUMMARY:NASA Science Mission Directorate briefing on ROSES-25 A.10 INNOVATE proposal
DESCRIPTION:ROSES-25 A.10 INNOVATE Preproposal Conference September 30\, at 2 pm Eastern Time.\nROSES-2025 A.10 INNOVATE solicits proposals to rapidly advance the use of satellite observations of Earth to efficiently support the U.S. economy\, national security\, and other applications relevant to NASA’s Earth Science to Action Strategy. This opportunity is open to all non-governmental U.S. entities but new to NASA are specifically encouraged to apply to co-design and co-develop solutions in partnership with end users facing complex challenges that can be addressed by NASA Earth science assets. The awarded projects are expected to offer products/tools/capabilities with near-immediate impacts on business or decision-making workflows with a clear plan for long-term sustainment through identified partnerships and/or commercialization opportunities. \nProjects for up to $1M over three years can be supported but undergo rigorous progress reviews at the end of Years 1 and 2 for continued support. Proposers must contact the Program Officer before submission to ensure their concept aligns with programmatic needs and is eligible\, as submissions that fall within the scope of other ROSES-25 elements or are redundant with currently-funded projects are not eligible. \nThe submission consists of three parts: an anonymized 5-page Science/Technical/Management proposal\, a 10-slide deck brief\, and a non-anonymized Expertise and Resources document. Proposals may be submitted at any time with no notice of intent required\, and NASA reserves the right to return or decline proposals based on internal review with limited feedback. The evaluation process will be dual-anonymous peer review. \nPlease join us to this community brief to learn more about the proposal requirements and the review process and submit your questions.\nhttps://meet.google.com/bee-mnqx-wkd \nQuestions regarding ROSES-2025 A.10 INNOVATE and this preproposal conference may be directed to Nima Pahlevan at nima.pahlevan@nasa.gov.
