SUMMARY:Orionids Meteor Shower Peak
DESCRIPTION:One of 2 showers yearly from Halley’s Comet dust\, one dust cloud from Halley’s path toward the Sun\, and one from its path away. Orionids appear to radiate from Constellation Orion\, are swift (~67 km/sec)\, and can be bright and leave persistent trains. Between 10 and 75 meteors per hour are visible\, an amount that changes from year to year depending both on atmospheric particles and phase of the Moon. Orionids are active from Oct 2 – Nov 7\, 2025.

SUMMARY:XRISM International Conference 2025: Opening a New Era of the Dynamic Universe
DESCRIPTION:To discuss the scientific achievements from the first two years of observations from the JAXA/NASA X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission\, XRISM. \nThe X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM)\, launched on September 7th\, 2023\, is a collaborative mission between JAXA and NASA\, with contributions from over 70 institutions in Japan\, the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe. With the successful combination of high-resolution spectroscopy and wide-field imaging\, XRISM has provided us with an unprecedented view of the Universe\, opening a new era of high-energy astronomy. This conference will highlight the scientific achievements from the first two years of XRISM and identify key issues we should address in the next observation cycles. Conference topics also cover theoretical studies related to XRISM observations and synergies with other observatories\, including future missions. \nConference Site: Kyoto Terrsa\nTopics\n\nFormation of the largest structure in the Universe\nChemical evolution of the Universe\nActive galactic nuclei and their environment\nEndpoint of stellar evolution\nAccretion and outflow in compact objects\nNew physics with high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy\nXRISM for multi-wavelength/multi-messenger astronomy

SUMMARY:SmallSat Education Conference
DESCRIPTION:With keynote speaker Astronaut and Former NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. Selected by NASA as an Astronaut in 1980\, Bolden flew four space shuttle missions between 1986 and 1994\, including two as mission commander. His missions supported satellite deployment\, scientific experimentation and collaboration with international partners aboard Spacelab. Notably\, he commanded the first joint U.S.–Japan shuttle mission and was pilot for STS-31\, which deployed the Hubble Space Telescope—one of NASA’s most significant scientific instruments.

SUMMARY:19th ESPI Autumn Conference: Europe as a Space Power – Directionality & Priorities of Strategic Action
DESCRIPTION:For the first time in Autumn Conference history\, the Conference will convene at the Vienna Rathaus. \nSpace is an arena of power politics and so\, increasingly\, a tool of international power projection. The place of Europe in space as a strong actor and trusted global partner is having growing pains. In spite of its landmark achievements and solid foundations\, Europe today lacks the political will — at the true scale of its economic power and talent — to assert itself as a full space power. \nThe 19th edition of the ESPI Autumn Conference will address the pathways for Europe to become a full-fledged space power and reinforce its role as a partner to the world\, bringing together high-level European and international stakeholders.
