SUMMARY:Registration Due: 2025 Lunar Surface Innovation Consortium (LSIC) Fall Meeting
DESCRIPTION:2025 LSIC Fall Meeting to be held 5-6 Nov will focus on mission-driven technology guiding us to the Moon. Through the years\, our community has planned and executed\, and now it’s time to thrive! This Fall will be valuable to learn directly from core infrastructure technology providers\, technologies in the pipeline for future missions\, risk postures and mission readiness\, and open community discussions as we begin establishing sustainable infrastructure on the Moon. In conjunction with the Georgia Institute of Technology\, participants can look forward to dynamic panels\, opportunities to partner\, lightning talks\, posters\, tours\, and more. No cost for online attendance; in-person registration $105. At Georgia Tech.

SUMMARY:Orionids Meteor Shower Peak
DESCRIPTION:One of 2 showers yearly from Halley’s Comet dust\, one dust cloud from Halley’s path toward the Sun\, and one from its path away. Orionids appear to radiate from Constellation Orion\, are swift (~67 km/sec)\, and can be bright and leave persistent trains. Between 10 and 75 meteors per hour are visible\, an amount that changes from year to year depending both on atmospheric particles and phase of the Moon. Orionids are active from Oct 2 – Nov 7\, 2025.

SUMMARY:XRISM International Conference 2025: Opening a New Era of the Dynamic Universe
DESCRIPTION:To discuss the scientific achievements from the first two years of observations from the JAXA/NASA X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission\, XRISM. \nThe X-Ray Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission (XRISM)\, launched on September 7th\, 2023\, is a collaborative mission between JAXA and NASA\, with contributions from over 70 institutions in Japan\, the U.S.\, Canada\, and Europe. With the successful combination of high-resolution spectroscopy and wide-field imaging\, XRISM has provided us with an unprecedented view of the Universe\, opening a new era of high-energy astronomy. This conference will highlight the scientific achievements from the first two years of XRISM and identify key issues we should address in the next observation cycles. Conference topics also cover theoretical studies related to XRISM observations and synergies with other observatories\, including future missions. \nConference Site: Kyoto Terrsa\nTopics\n\nFormation of the largest structure in the Universe\nChemical evolution of the Universe\nActive galactic nuclei and their environment\nEndpoint of stellar evolution\nAccretion and outflow in compact objects\nNew physics with high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy\nXRISM for multi-wavelength/multi-messenger astronomy
