ESCAPADE Spacecraft “Blue” to Fly By Earth (Gravity Assist)
Nov 7

NASA’s twin ESCAPADE (Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers) spacecraft “Blue” and “Gold” are executing crucial gravity-assist flybys. Having launched in late 2025, they looped around the L2 Lagrange point and are now returning to Earth to perform Trans-Mars Injection burns. Blue will swing past Earth on November 7, followed by Gold on November 9, utilizing Earth’s gravity to catapult themselves toward an autumn 2027 arrival at Mars.
