Webinar: In search of our origins: from the birth of stars to the emergence of life

January 15, 2026

18:00 CEST; Grégoire Danger, Professor at Aix-Marseille University (PIIM Laboratory – Physics of Ionic and Molecular Interactions) presents.

What environmental conditions could have allowed the emergence of living systems on Earth 4.1 billion years ago?

To try and find answers to this question, we will begin in the star-forming regions to understand the origin of organic matter in our solar system, and end up on the surface of Earth a few hundred million years after its formation. We will try to determine whether the emergence of life systems on Earth is a unique event, or whether it could have occurred on other planets.
